(AP) — A 17-year veteran of Chicago's City Council has pleaded guilty to taking payoff money and cheating on her taxes.Former Alderman Arenda Troutman acknowledged Wednesday that she'd taken money for helping real estate developers in her South Side ward.
She pleaded guilty to mail fraud and tax fraud charges. Eleven other counts were dropped in exchange for her plea.
U.S. District Judge Ruben Castillo set December 3rd for sentencing the 50-year-old Troutman, who lost her re-election bid last year after the charges became public.Defense attorney Sam Adam Junior says other than the payoffs, Troutman had "an impeccable record" of working her way up after a poverty-stricken childhood "in the coal fields of West Virginia."

You can say what you want to about "The Orange One" But something have to be done about this woman. This interview was an audio feed, she wasn't in front of the camera, thank GOD!!! She has got to be the original mold for political hacks and the likes. She couldn't answer any questions put to her without making it a bigger mystery. She came off as if the CPD was a poor rendition of the Keystone Kops, then finally when FOXS posted an informational screen to the public to call the CPD special victim units LOGO/ and telephone number in background to anyone with any information, she barked out a telephone number different then what was posted.....somebody help us!!!!!! surely we are not alone.
